We are seeking a dependable, hands-on person to keep our buildings clean, safe, and well maintained. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, notices problems before they become larger issues, and completes assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
-Clean and maintain entrances, hallways, stairwells, elevators, restrooms, common areas, and sidewalks.
-Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, clean glass, and replenish restroom supplies.
-Collect trash and recycling and keep disposal areas clean and orderly.
-Perform minor repairs, including patching, painting, basic plumbing, and adjustments to doors, locks, and hardware.
-Replace lightbulbs, HVAC filters, and other routine maintenance items.
-Inspect the property regularly and promptly report leaks, damage, safety concerns, and equipment problems.
-Prepare vacant units or spaces for occupancy, including cleaning and minor repairs.
-Maintain exterior areas, including litter removal, seasonal cleanup, and snow and ice removal.
-Assist outside contractors with access and coordinate work as directed.
-Keep tools, equipment, and supplies organized and maintain a daily record of work completed.
-Respond professionally to tenant requests and follow up until assigned work is complete.
-Follow safety procedures and report work requiring a licensed contractor.
Qualifications:
-Previous building maintenance, janitorial, or handyman experience preferred.
-Working knowledge of basic repairs and proper use of cleaning supplies and tools.
-Reliable attendance, punctuality, and strong attention to detail.
-Ability to prioritize tasks, follow instructions, and communicate clearly with management and tenants.
-Ability to perform duties involving standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting or moving supplies, with reasonable accommodation.
-Valid driver’s license if travel between properties is required.
