Bonjour! Want to understand real spoken French, not just textbook French?

I’m Hadrien, a native Parisian who grew up with an American mother, so I’m fully bilingual in French and English. I’ve been teaching French for 18 years, first in Seattle from 2008 to 2017, and now online from Paris.

I offer private French lessons for beginners through advanced students, as well as a weekly intermediate French class on Fridays.

A big part of my teaching is the French you actually hear in everyday life, including things textbooks often leave out. For example, je ne sais pas becomes j’sais pas, and pas de problème becomes pad problème. That’s because French speakers constantly drop sounds and run words together, which can make even familiar words hard to recognize in conversation.

Alongside conversation practice, we work on grammar, conjugation, pronunciation and listening comprehension using the syllabus and teaching materials I’ve developed over the years.

🇫🇷 PRIVATE FRENCH LESSONS

Level: Beginner through Advanced
Available times: Wednesdays at 7am Central | Thursdays at 7am Central
Duration: 50 minutes
Format: Zoom

Private lessons include:

Live conversation, with correction of errors
Everyday vocabulary and idioms
Grammar and conjugation
Pronunciation practice
Common French expressions that don't translate literally into English
Personalized weekly assignments

Private lessons are adapted to what you’re trying to improve, whether you’re starting from scratch, getting back into French after a long break, preparing for time in France, or already advanced and trying to sound more natural.

🇫🇷 FRIDAY FRENCH CLASS

Level: Lower Intermediate through Upper Intermediate (A2 / B1 / B2)
Time: Fridays at 11am Central
Duration: 90 minutes
Format: Zoom
Drop-in: $25
Monthly plan: $17 per class

If Fridays don’t work for you, a Video Only option lets you watch the recordings on your own schedule.

Grammar topics rotate, so you can join at any time. The class is designed to give stronger students plenty to work with while also helping rusty students review the basics.

Each class includes:

French idiom of the week
An interactive quiz, plus correction of an optional weekly assignment
French culture
Common French expressions that don't translate literally into English
Grammar review
A detailed look at a French movie dialogue, with vocabulary, listening comprehension and real spoken French

The class is mostly teacher-led, so I don’t put people on the spot :) Your camera can stay off, participation is optional, and you can ask questions throughout the class.
