An international non-profit professional organization is currently seeking an experienced contract Audio/Visual Technician (AV) for its annual conference, taking place in Chicago, IL at Hotel Chicago Downtown Autograph Collection, October 1 – 3, 2026.
This contract, temporary position will provide Audio Visual technical support for a professional conference.
Job Description:
• Provide effective audiovisual and computer support to conference attendees, organizers and presenters by ensuring that hardware is property configured and physically set-up to accommodate their needs.
• Instruct presenters on proper use of AV equipment (ie: projectors) prior to their presentations and provide quick solutions to technical problems. Additionally, the Technician will be required to monitor all presentations that require AV to ensure they are running smoothly.
• Work with the hotel’s AV contact prior and during the conference to ensure that all audiovisual set-ups and equipment, including cables and other needed technical devices, are in proper working order.
• Troubleshoot hardware and/or configuration problems that prevent the successful installation and operation of needed applications.
• Must be able to present yourself in a professional manner.
Qualifications:
• Thorough understanding of both Windows and Mac hardware and corresponding operating systems.
• Experience with conference room sound system including microphones (wired and wireless) and amp system.
• Knowledge of video signal types and switching, (HDMI, DVI, etc).
• Ability to work with conventional non-automated systems such as portable sound boards, portable amplifier and speaker systems, portable video and projector/presentation hardware.
• Ability to trouble shoot audio or video problems.

Weds a.m. or p.m. – Available for brief walk through.
