Are you passionate about working with young children and helping them learn, grow, and thrive? Kiddieland Educational Center of Excellence is looking for caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teachers to join our team!
We are a Reggio Emilia-inspired early childhood education center serving children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Our program combines the Creative Curriculum with the Reggio Emilia Philosophy to create a nurturing, engaging, and enriching learning environment.
Position: Assistant Teacher
Location: Chicago, IL (Northwest Side)
Employment Type: Part/Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with availability between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM
Responsibilities:
-Assist lead teachers with daily classroom activities, routines, and lesson planning.
-Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.
-Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
-Help with classroom organization, cleanliness, and daily transitions.
-Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.
-Follow Kiddieland's policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
-Work collaboratively with lead teachers and support the center's educational philosophy.
Qualifications:
-Previous experience working with children in a childcare, preschool, or educational setting is preferred.
-A caring, patient, and positive attitude.
-Ability to work as part of a team and communicate professionally.
-Dependable, punctual, and committed to providing quality care.
-Willingness to complete required Illinois DCFS training and employment clearances.
-CDA, ECE coursework, or related education is a plus but not required for every assistant teacher position.
