Job Duties:
Expectations of a HVAC Installer are to be able to install new HVAC from bare studs to a functional system. Must be able to perform a HVAC rough-in and final, and installs must be up to code. Must be able to understand plans / blueprint.
- Install boots, connect duct lines, and hang distribution boxes as the plans/blueprints indicate
- Distribution boxes should be properly insulated before installing
- Strap up ductwork according to code
- Properly run thermostat wire and refrigeration line
- Must be able to install grills and returns
- Should be able to hook up a unit
Expectations:
- Installs must be up to code
- Installs must be able to pass a Duct Blast Test (duct connections should be tight and properly installed)
- Have gathered required materials or arrive at the job site by 7:30 A.M.
- Able to produce a shortage list / list of needed materials
- Able to work without explicit instructions
- Able to understand and utilize plans
Qualifications:
- Apprenticeship or working under a journeyperson for three to five years
- Active, clean driver’s license
- Have your own tools
