Job Summary
The Batch Maker / Mixer is responsible for preparing production batches according to established batch tickets, formulas, and manufacturing procedures. This position weighs and handles raw materials, operates industrial mixing equipment, makes authorized additions to batches, and supports safe and efficient production operations.
The ideal candidate has at least two years of hands-on experience in mixing, batching, blending, compounding, or a related manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Read, understand, and follow batch tickets, production instructions, and established procedures
Accurately weigh and measure raw materials according to batch requirements
Pull materials from designated inventory locations
Operate large and small industrial mixers and other production equipment
Make authorized additions of materials to production batches
Handle hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with established procedures
Operate a forklift and maintain required certification
Perform general cleanup and maintain an organized production work area
Complete required production documentation and records
Participate in the use and application of ISO 9001 documentation, forms, and Quality Management System procedures
Follow established safety, quality, and production requirements
Perform other duties as assigned based on production needs
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in batch making, mixing, blending, compounding, or a related manufacturing or production role
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience reading and following batch tickets, formulas, recipes, or production instructions
Experience weighing and measuring raw materials
Ability to safely operate production and mixing equipment
Ability to handle hazardous and non-hazardous materials
Forklift experience and ability to meet certification requirements
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
Ability to work safely and effectively in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work occasional overtime and Saturdays as production needs require
Preferred:
Experience in coatings, paints, inks, adhesives, resins, chemicals, plastics, or a similar manufacturing environment
Experience operating industrial batch mixers or blending equipment
Familiarity with ISO 9001 or Quality Management System procedures
College-level technical training or related manufacturing training

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work is performed onsite in a manufacturing and production environment
Regular interaction with industrial mixers, production machinery, chemicals, and fumes
Frequent lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
Frequent pushing and pulling of materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
Extended standing and frequent walking required
Steel-toe safety shoes and other required personal protective equipment must be worn
Must be able to wear respiratory protection as required
Occasional overtime and Saturday work may be required based on production needs
