This position is ideal for someone with experience in fabrication, machining, or manufacturing operations who enjoys working with customers, reviewing drawings, and helping bring projects to life. The role combines technical estimating, customer communication, and proactive business development.
The right candidate will be comfortable reviewing prints, preparing quotes, following up on opportunities, and identifying new work with existing and prospective customers.
Key Responsibilities
Review customer drawings and specifications to prepare accurate quotes for fabricated and machined components
Interpret engineering prints and determine appropriate manufacturing processes
Communicate with customers regarding RFQs, pricing, lead times, and technical questions
Consistently follow up on open quotes and opportunities
Work closely with internal production teams to ensure accurate scope and pricing
Maintain organized records of quoting activity and customer communication
Develop relationships with existing customers and identify opportunities for additional work
Assist with generating new business through outreach, referrals, and customer engagement
Support projects from initial RFQ through order placement
Preferred Background
Candidates with hands-on manufacturing experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Helpful experience may include:
Sheet metal fabrication
CNC machining
Welding and fabrication processes
Mechanical assembly
Manufacturing estimating or quoting
Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Technical understanding of fabrication or machining processes
Experience working with ERP systems for quoting, order entry, or job tracking
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple RFQs and follow-ups
Self-motivated with an interest in growing customer relationships and generating new work
Additional Experience (a plus)
Familiarity with ITAR-controlled environments
Knowledge of ISO / quality management systems in a manufacturing setting
Schedule & Compensation
$25–$35 per hour, depending on experience
Full-time onsite role
