Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class A or Class B Dump Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials to and from job sites. This role requires a strong understanding of various driving techniques, including operating different types of trucks, such as dump trucks, Water Trucks, Truck and Trailer. The Dump Truck Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
Safely operate dump trucks and other heavy vehicles to transport materials to designated locations.
Load and unload materials as required, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes traveled, and materials delivered.
Follow assigned routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site managers regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transport.
Assist in the maintenance of the truck by reporting any mechanical issues or necessary repairs.
Skills
Proficient in driving manual transmission vehicles.
Experience with dump trucks is preferred.
Strong background in commercial driving with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
Familiarity with route driving and delivery driver experience is essential.
Ability to operate forklifts/excavators for loading and unloading freight when necessary.
Knowledge of freight handling procedures, including loading techniques for various materials.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
