Rock Quarry – Full-Time Position
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Loader/Excavator Operator & Mechanic to join our rock quarry team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating heavy equipment and performing routine maintenance and mechanical repairs on quarry equipment.
Pay: Competitive – Based on Experience
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Position: Full-Time
Location: Rock Quarry
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely operate front-end loaders, excavators, and other heavy equipment used in quarry operations.
Load and move rock, aggregate, and other materials safely and efficiently.
Operate equipment according to production requirements and established safety procedures.
Perform daily equipment inspections and identify mechanical or operational issues.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and quarry machinery.
Diagnose and repair mechanical problems when necessary.
Maintain hydraulic systems, engines, brakes, electrical systems, belts, hoses, and other equipment components.
Perform oil changes, lubrication, filter changes, and other scheduled maintenance.
Assist with equipment repairs and maintenance to minimize downtime.
Keep equipment clean and in safe operating condition.
Report equipment problems or safety concerns to management.
Follow all quarry safety rules, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Quarry Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience operating loaders and excavators is required.
Mechanical experience with heavy equipment is strongly preferred.
Must be able to safely operate heavy equipment in a quarry environment.
Must have a strong understanding of equipment safety and daily inspections.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues.
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
Must be willing to perform both equipment operation and mechanical duties.
Valid driver's license required.
Quarry, mining, construction, or aggregate experience is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to sit and operate heavy equipment for extended periods.
Ability to climb on and off heavy equipment safely.
Ability to lift, carry, bend, stoop, kneel, and work around heavy machinery.
Ability to perform physically demanding maintenance and repair work.
