CONTRACT IT SUPPORT TECH WANTED — Mac/Windows, On-Call — Burlingame
We are looking for seasoned contract techs to troubleshoot and fix macOS and Windows issues for our clients. Occasional hardware work too — computers, printers, peripherals.
This is on-call, contract work. You need to be reachable and able to jump in when something breaks, remote or on-site.
What we need:
Exceptional with people — patient, clear, and genuinely compassionate with clients who aren't tech-savvy. This matters as much as the technical skill.
Real experience — years of hands-on troubleshooting on both Mac and Windows
iPhone and iPad experience required
Comfortable with hardware issues on computers, printers, and peripherals
Application installation, setup, and support
Virus and malware removal / prevention
Able to walk clients through basic training when needed
Able to provide remote support
Available on-call
Local to Burlingame / Peninsula area

The techs who do best in this role often have a background as a teacher or in customer service — someone used to explaining things clearly and staying patient with people who are frustrated or overwhelmed.
What we're really looking for:
Explains things without jargon, and checks that it actually landed — not just "does that make sense?"
Never makes someone feel dumb for not knowing something
Slows down instead of rushing when a client is anxious about their device or their data
Stays calm and steady when a client is stressed — a business owner with a dead POS system at lunch rush needs a level head, not a mirror of the panic
