My name is Nicolas. I'm a drummer, pianist and composer, and I have been playing music since the age of five. Originally French-Swiss, I grew up in a musical family and developed a deep connection to both classical music, jazz, brazilian music pop and rock early on. I began my musical education at a young age in Europe, studying classical piano and percussion at the Conservatory. I later completed an exchange semester at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where I expanded my focus toward jazz and contemporary music. I went on to earn my MFA in Jazz Drums from the California Institute of the Arts here in Los Angeles.

I have taught privately and at conservatories in Switzerland and France, working with students of all ages and levels. My teaching emphasizes strong technical foundations, intentional listening, improvisation, and creative expression. Lessons are always tailored to each student’s goals, background, and musical interests, whether they are beginners or advanced musicians. My approach is performance-informed and collaborative, helping students build confidence, originality, and a deeper musical understanding.

As a performer, I have toured extensively throughout Europe and appeared at festivals and venues such as JazzFest Budapest, Duc des Lombards and Sunset Sunside in Paris, Moods in Zurich, and currently maintain an active presence in Los Angeles, performing with local bands, my own projects, and regularly at venues such as Sam First. In addition to jazz, I have orchestral experience performing with the Swiss and French Youth Orchestra.

I have been living in Los Angeles for the past two and a half years and look forward to sharing my experience with students who want to grow musically, creatively and expand their artistic vision.
