We are looking for an experienced, polished, and hospitality-driven Maître d’ / Head Host to join our fine-dining team.
This is not simply a host position. We are looking for someone who understands that the front door sets the tone for the entire dining experience.
The right candidate is confident, professional, personable, highly organized, and genuinely enjoys building relationships with guests.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading and overseeing the host team
- Warmly welcoming and recognizing guests
- Managing reservations, walk-ins, waitlists, and table assignments
- Recognizing VIPs, regulars, special occasions, and guest preferences
- Building relationships with guests and remembering names and favorite tables
- Strategically controlling the flow and pacing of the dining room
- Communicating closely with management, servers, bussers, bar, and kitchen
- Handling special requests and difficult seating situations professionally
- Maintaining detailed and accurate guest profiles and reservation notes
- Training hosts on fine-dining hospitality, telephone etiquette, seating procedures, and professional presentation
- Maintaining an immaculate host stand and entrance
- Personally thanking guests as they leave and helping build long-term relationships
The ideal candidate:
- Has previous Maître d’, Head Host, or upscale/fine-dining experience
- Has excellent communication and people skills
- Maintains a polished and professional appearance
- Is comfortable interacting with VIP and high-profile guests
- Can remain calm and composed during extremely busy services
- Understands reservation management and dining-room pacing
- Has exceptional attention to detail
- Is a natural leader and strong team player
- Understands that genuine hospitality goes far beyond simply seating a table
