About the role:
We’re hiring a dependable Warehouse Associate to support food distribution at a mission-driven nonprofit in Brooklyn.
This position is ideal for someone with hands-on warehouse experience and experience operating an electric pallet jack. The right candidate will take pride in accurate and safe work, treat others respectfully, ask questions when needed, and help wherever the team needs support.
This is a steady, full-time opportunity with the chance to learn new warehouse processes and grow within the organization. Nonprofit experience is not required. Forklift experience is a plus, but not required.
What you’ll do:
-- Pick, pack, label, shrink-wrap, and stage orders for distribution
-- Operate an electric pallet jack to move products and pallets safely
-- Assist with loading, unloading, receiving, and putting away deliveries
-- Replenish picking areas and organize warehouse products
-- Check product quantities and report damaged products or shortages
-- Support different warehouse areas as priorities change
-- Follow instructions and communicate questions or concerns promptly
-- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
-- Check what needs attention after completing assigned tasks
-- Work independently while supporting the warehouse team
Requirements:
-- At least 1 year of recent hands-on warehouse, freight, receiving, or order-picking experience
-- Experience operating an electric pallet jack
-- Availability Monday–Friday for 7:00 AM starts and occasional 5:30 AM starts
-- Ability to reliably arrive at the Brooklyn, NY 11234 worksite for either start time
-- Comfortable working in refrigerated or cold areas
-- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical warehouse duties, with or without reasonable accommodation
-- Strong attendance, punctuality, and attention to detail
-- Ability to listen carefully, follow directions, and ask for clarification
-- Willingness to work independently and support a team
-- Interest in long-term employment, learning new tasks, and taking on additional responsibilities
