Ibis Ripmo - longer, slacker, stable, light, poppy, and playful feel = BIG SMILES
There’s almost nothing the Ripmo can’t do. This immaculate Ibis Ripmo V2 has a 160mm travel front suspension and a longer, slacker geometry with 64.9° head angle, 147mm rear-wheel travel, and Ibis’ custom Traction Tune suspension make the Ripmo V2 a legit enduro contender. It’s a great pedaling bike but the Ibis Ripmo V2 is happiest with the throttle wide open on local shuttle trail systems like Sandy Ridge and Post Canyon
For those of you who’ve ridden the Ripmo V2, the first thing you’ll notice is it feels like a bigger bike out front. Because it’s longer and slacker, the handling isn’t quite as quick as a 27.5 bike or mullet bike, but it’s more stable at speed and smooths out steep chunk better than a 29er. It’s like you’re floating over the chunk; very plush.
The second thing you’ll notice about the Ibis Ripmo V2 is the plush suspension feel. All you have to do is throw a leg over it and pedal it around the parking lot and you’ll feel the difference. That’s Ibis’ Traction Tune custom shock valving. It makes the bike feel like it’s glued to the ground and makes cornering, climbing and traction ridiculously good. The DW Link system was also tweaked to make the bike more progressive while taking advantage of the Fox X2 rear shock. It’s incredibly poppy over the bigger stuff while floating over the smaller trail chunder with very little feedback. The overall result is a bike that has fantastic pedaling traction yet feels buttery smooth on nearly any surface or hit. The Ripmo V2 is one of the smoothest-feeling bikes I’ve ever ridden.
