Illigers Macaw (Birmingham)

This is a very difficult decision, but I’m looking for the right home for my sweet boy, Zazu. 💙💚
Zazu is a 5-year-old, hand-raised Illiger’s macaw (blue-winged macaw). The reason I’m considering rehoming him is simply because he deserves someone who has more time to dedicate specifically to him. He loves interaction and attention, and I want him in a home where he can get plenty of both.
Zazu is a genuinely sweet little guy. He will step onto you and enjoys being with his person. He very rarely bites, and on the occasions he does get a little mouthy, they’re more like “baby bites” — he has never drawn blood.

I’m not looking for the quickest home for him — I’m looking for the right one. I would strongly prefer someone with previous parrot/macaw experience who understands their need for daily interaction, enrichment, proper diet and the very long-term commitment that comes with owning one.
I want Zazu to go somewhere he’ll be loved, handled and included as part of the family. I’m happy to answer questions and talk with potential homes to make sure it’s a good fit for both Zazu and his new person
