### 🚚 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
**Safe Vehicle Operation**
* Safely operate a flatbed tractor-trailer on long-haul, regional, and local routes.
* Operate safely in various weather, terrain, and road conditions.
* Follow all federal, state, and local traffic laws.
**Load Securement**
* Properly secure freight using chains, straps, binders, tarps, and other approved equipment.
* Ensure all loads are secured in accordance with DOT requirements.
* Inspect load securement throughout the trip and make adjustments when necessary.
* Handle oversized and specialized loads safely and professionally.
**Pre-Trip & Post-Trip Inspections**
* Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor and trailer.
* Check brakes, tires, lights, securement equipment, and other safety components.
* Immediately report mechanical problems and maintenance concerns.
**DOT & Regulatory Compliance**
* Maintain compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations.
* Follow Hours-of-Service (HOS) requirements.
* Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and other required records.
* Operate within legal weight and dimension requirements.
**Communication & Customer Service**
* Maintain professional communication with dispatch, customers, brokers, and company personnel.
* Provide timely updates regarding deliveries, delays, traffic, weather, and other issues.
* Represent Arctic Frost Logistics professionally at customer locations and job sites.
**Safety & Efficiency**
* Make safety the top priority on every trip.
* Follow company safety policies and procedures.
* Practice fuel-efficient and cost-effective driving.
* Safely load, unload, and handle freight when required.
**Delivery & Documentation**
* Deliver freight safely and on schedule.
* Verify pickup and delivery information.
* Complete bills of lading, delivery receipts, inspection reports, and other required paperwork accurately.
* Communicate immediately with dispatch regarding any delivery issues.
### 🛣️ TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
* Multi-state, regional, and long-haul driving.
* Routes may include oversized and specialized freight.
* Drivers should be comfortable with changing schedules and extended time on the road.
* **Drivers take the truck home every weekend**, allowing for convenient commuting and a fresh start for the following week.
### ✅ QUALIFICATIONS
* Valid **Class A CDL**.
* Clean and safe driving record.
* Previous **flatbed experience required**.
* Experience securing loads with chains, straps, binders, and tarps.
* Knowledge of DOT load-securement requirements.
* Experience with oversized or specialized loads is a strong advantage.
* Ability to perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* Dependable, safety-minded, and professional.
* Physically capable of securing and tarping freight.
* Willingness to travel across multiple states.
* Ability to maintain accurate logs and required documentation.
