The design is what makes it special. The footboard incorporates the natural live edge and organic shape of the wood, including knots, grain variations and darker bark-like details. An open horizontal section underneath gives the bed a sculptural, almost architectural look. It feels somewhere between organic modern, rustic modern and Japanese-inspired minimalism.
The low-profile platform design looks especially beautiful with simple linen bedding and works equally well in a modern, California casual, cabin, wabi-sabi or eclectic interior.
The bed includes a sturdy wood slat support system, so no box spring is necessary.

This is a really unusual bed with a lot more personality than a standard platform frame. We’re only selling because we’re changing things around, and I’d love to see it go to someone who appreciates the handmade construction and natural wood.
Condition: Very good used condition. Because this is natural solid wood, knots, grain variation, small cracks/checking and irregularities are part of the character of the piece rather than defects. Please see photos.
