A private family in Berkeley is seeking an experienced, reliable Housekeeper for a long-term position, approximately 24–27 hours per week. This is a busy household with children of varying ages; young kids and nannies are often present, so the ideal candidate is comfortable working around an active family and collaborating well with other staff. This is a housekeeping role and does not include childcare.
The family wants someone who takes real pride in a clean, organized home, works independently, and adjusts easily as household needs shift.
𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
• Thorough cleaning throughout the home, including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and common areas
• Full household laundry for adults and children, including folding, ironing as needed, and putting clothing away
• Changing and laundering linens
• General tidying and organization
• Managing cleaning/laundry supplies and flagging when items need replenishing
• Occasional grocery shopping and errands
• Sorting recycling, compost, and trash per Berkeley guidelines, and supporting the family's waste-reduction efforts
• Using low-toxicity, child-safe cleaning products
𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲
• Significant housekeeping experience, ideally in private homes
• Excellent attention to detail and high cleanliness standards
• Reliable, punctual, discreet, and self-directed
• Comfortable working independently and alongside other household staff
• Comfortable around young children
• Familiar with eco-conscious cleaning and waste practices
• Strong, recent references
• Willing to undergo a detailed background check
• Legally authorized to work in the US
• Strong English speaking skills
• Minimum of 2+ years of professional housekeeping experience
• Looking for a stable, long-term role
