A vintage English-made bike with remarkably fancy lugs in the post-war neo-gothic style, rebuilt for climbing Bay Area hills using semi-vintage parts. Makes Rivendell lugs look simple and understated! Headbadge is not firmly attached, but everything else is.
Pictures tell most of the story, but here are a few of the nice details:
The frame is lightweight steel and is in very good shape. In addition to the wonderful lugs, it also has pencil seat stays and a beautifully raked fork. It dates from the late 1950's. Absolutely no rust and no dings or dents. Repainted around 2010 by Velo-art. A few areas of scraped paint but overall very nice. 23" or 58cm size should suit riders about 5'9" to 5'11".
Other parts:
3x8 gearing.
Deore triple derailleur
beautiful 700c Ukai wheelset with overhauled Shimano hubs and new 700x33c Continental GP Urban tires.
full fenders (well, we should call them mudguards on an English frame)
rear Tubus rack for carrying stuff
Nitto handlebars and tall technomic stem with lots of adjustability for comfort
Dia Compe brake levers
Shimano bar-end shifters
classic fluted seatpost
modern dual pivot Tektro R559 long-reach brakes
Saddle not included (it fits me and not you). I can provide a basic one to get you going if needed.
Ready to ride. Enjoy a piece of mid-century cycling history. You will be distinctly different than the carbon-frame riding crowd (not that there is anything wrong with them).
