Howdy CL. For sale is a Harry White copy of a Rick 3000 short scale (30”) bass. Bass sounds and plays great! Like a P bass on steroids. I am the third owner - the first had HW build this bass.
Although a copy, this bass has the following original Rickenbacker parts:
Rickenbacker Tuners
Rickenbacker 3000 pickup.
Rickenbacker Bridge (missing mute attachment) (will include if can locate in my storage area)
Rickenbacker knobs (will include if can locate)
Rickenbacker strap buttons
The following upgrades were made by the second owner who I bought it from:
Hipshot replacement Rickenbacker Bridge (will include original if located)
Star Guitar’s replacement controls (using 500 pots).
Rickenbacker 4000 style knobs (will include originals if located).
There are two dings and a scuff on the bass – both in pictures and price adjusted in sale.
At present strung with GHS precision flatwound bass strings 45-95. HW adjusted the neck plate to be centered in with the neck, so it is a bit off center with the body. Does not affect anything to do with construction or playing of the bass.
Harry White can be found on Facebook on the “rickenfaker page” - excellent replicas. The current costs of an actual 3000 is pushing $4000+, if you can find one.
I have owned an original 3000 this bass is the same if not better in construction and quality, not to mention the sharp paint job.
For sale is a Harry White made "Rickenbacker" 3000 short scale bass. It has real Rick tuners and, most important, a real Rick 3000 pickup. Plays and sounds great and the pickup is loud and can be described as a P bass on steroids. The bass is in overall excellent cosmetic condition except for a few minor dings/blemishes that don't affect playability. IME, short scale basses vary in how much of a reach there is to the first fret, depending on how the neck is joined to the body and where the strap bottom. As great as this bass sounds, it's more of a stretch for my short self than I prefer and I just end up playing other basses. I figured maybe someone else would use it. If not, no biggy, it can stay on my wall looking purty.
If you don't know who Harry White is, you can look him up on the FB Rickenfaker page and see his work. He is in the UK and makes excellent replicas. This guitar is probably a little better made than the actual 3000 and it is definitely lighter weight and easier to play than the original slab models (no body contour). And if you can find an original Rick 3000 they are like 3+ times as what I'm asking for here.
$1400 cash, including basic Fender gig bag (or original hard case if located). If interested, please reply via email and be sure to include your name and number if you'd like a response due to all the bots, scammers and spammers out there. And please don't email asking solely whether it's still available. If you see this ad, it's available.
