I set out with the goal of building the best sub-7 pound solid body Jazzmaster I could, which is a tough task. Weighs 6.95 lbs with a solid swamp ash body. Extremely resonant when played acoustically.
- BloomDoom body finished in blonde nitrocellulose
- Allparts neck that I stripped and refinished in mulitple coats of shellac and lightly sanded it (feels incredible) - I also did some work on the frets to get them perfect
- Descendant vibrato/bridge
- Sunday Handwound “Woody” pickups
- no rhythm/lead circuit installed - wired as a classic 3-way because who uses the rhythm circuit anyways… ;)
I have this pretty much priced at the cost of parts. Jazzmaster builds aren’t cheap and I guarantee you this blows any comparably priced factory made JMs out of the water.
