Berkeley-based singer-songwriter seeking a versatile, tasteful lead guitarist/multi-instrumentalist for an established, actively gigging Americana/roots rock band.
We perform original music and select covers in acoustic duo, trio, quartet, and full electric configurations, playing paid gigs at clubs, wineries, festivals, and other venues throughout Northern California. We're looking to increase both the number and quality of our gigs in 2027, with better audiences and compensation. Some travel is required.
Ideally, we're looking for a new primary lead guitarist/multi-instrumentalist who can become an integral part of the band. We're also open to working with someone on a supplemental basis for selected gigs, depending on availability and musical fit.
Think David Lindley with Jackson Browne or Mike Campbell with Tom Petty—creative players who know how to elevate a song, when to shine, and when to leave space. Great tone, dynamics, musical imagination, and the ability to play around vocals are essential.
The band is built around my original songs, lead vocals, and acoustic/electric rhythm guitar. This is an artist-led project with an established musical direction, but there's plenty of room for creative instrumental contributions, distinctive parts, and great solos.
Our influences and covers include Dylan, Cash, Haggard, George Jones, the Stones, the Byrds, Lucinda Williams, CCR, and Tom Petty.
Strong electric lead guitar is essential. Mandolin is especially desirable, but slide guitar, lap steel, dobro, pedal steel, or other roots instruments are also welcome. Harmony vocals are a plus, but not required.
Looking for someone who learns quickly, listens well, communicates reliably, shows up prepared, and genuinely enjoys gigging. We're not looking to add another songwriter or lead singer.
Initial auditions in Berkeley; band rehearsals in West Oakland. Daytime rehearsal availability is helpful but not essential.
