This posting is filled, but I'll leave this up and change dates and times if I need assistance as the month goes on. Thanks to all who have responded. I was overwhelmed with your skills and professional and personal narratives.
I've started selling comic books on Whatnot.com and I could use some help with this on Wednesday evening, 8/5, from 6:00 PM to about 10:00 PM. The ideal person would help take comic books down from the wall display and bring them closer to the camera where I can show the condition to the viewers. You will be in view of the auction audience on camera from time to time, so please be comfortable with that concept when applying. You'll also be asked to help with keeping comic books organized in stacks, writing notes with the names of buyers on them etc, or sorting them back into boxes that are alphabetized. I may need help putting comic books carefully into protective sleeves with backing boards, or rolling wheeled carts and moving things around.
This could be an ideal task for someone who knows about older comic books or is a Star Trek/Wars nerd, Marvel fan, artist, etc. or a student who needs a bit of cash. As I sell more, I could use future help with these auctions and/or with packing and shipping if we work well together.
The space where I plan to hold the auction is an art studio for painting, and it's a bit cramped. I'll have to move things out of the way for the set up, and move things back in afterwards. The studio is in a larger shared art space with open ceilings near the original Berkeley Bowl grocery store and within walking distance from Ashby Bart or busses on Shattuck Ave. I'm friendly, honest, professional, and respectful and I seek these qualities in those interested in helping out. Thanks!
