Usually people make the case to the president as to why they should receive a pardon. With trump the only case they need to make is to support him financially by buying massive amounts of his meme coin or some other crap he is pedaling.
Prior to Trump, usually the people pardoned have done a substantial part of their punishment or have been harshly penalized to the extent the punishment is out of alignment with the crime. Usually the pardoned people are not considered a threat anymore.
Of course this is not the case with trump pardons be it the January 6th pardons, or the high level financial crime swindlers.
To get a pardon from Trump all you need to do is prove your usefulness to him. As long as HE can do business with you, your crimes are not of importance.
Trump was not able to pardon Tina Peters but he was able to twist Colorado's hand to have her pardoned. Now that she is free she is back to her old tricks. Promoting election interference.
Sadly, republicans have no spine to put the brakes on Trump. At the voting booth do not give republicans a pass (a pardon). Vote republicans out. Vote democrats in so we can mitigate some of the damage Trump is doing to this country.
