Electric, with power twist switch, long cord, chain hangers. "BOXES". The lit up pictures are not at all what they look like! I don't know why my camera is making the red, yellow, when lit. No matter what angle, blinds open or closed, could not get true color. First picture best represents the colors, not the shade of color or brightness when illuminated. VERY VERY bright when lit! Designed to catch attention. I have 2 of these. Also have another one, another post, "OPEN". See pictures for measurements. You pick up.
