Just finished building this unique custom table using reclaimed materials and ammo box. I wanted to try and build something a little different, and you won't find this in any store. This would be perfect for anywhere in the house including an entry area, hall, office, man-cave etc. I added a bottom board inside to a great place to hide and store anything inside.
The ammunition box is from World War II era, built in 1944, as you can see imprinted on the side. Research finds this box was manufactured for the US Navy. I painted the box with a darker green matte finish and then clear coated with a matte finish to protect the paint.
The salvaged wood came from older bed side rails I repurposed. I stained the Ash wood a medium brown color and finished with a satin polyurethane finish allowing the grain to pop.
