Solid wood, no creaks, heavy and stable. Natural wood color that has been clear-coated (Polycrylic, no fumes). The entire frame comes apart for transport.
The slats under the mattress are all connected with strapping and can be rolled up for transport.
The frame is pocketed into the headboard and once the hardware is installed and tightened, the bed is rock solid. The headboard is all secured with pocket joinery so there are no visible fasteners. The only visible fasteners on the outside of the bed are the carriage bolts seen on the corners of the frame.
All non-removable joints are secured with glue and screws.
The mattress is a few years old but is in excellent condition. Home is extremely clean, no pets/bugs/smoke/etc. The mattress has always been covered with a waterproof mattress pad and has never been exposed to moisture, food, animals, etc.
