General Yard Laborer (Austin, TX)

We are seeking a dependable individual for our client in San Marcos to assist with manual labor tasks and support overall branch operations. This role involves loading and unloading materials, performing basic maintenance and repairs, and ensuring the storage yard is kept clean and organized. The ideal candidate will have the physical stamina to handle heavy lifting, and the focus required to complete tasks efficiently while adhering to our company’s safety guidelines. Your commitment to maintaining a safe and orderly work environment is essential for success in this position.
 
Pay:   $25.50 per hour 

 Job Description: 

• Move buildings throughout yard and production areas.
• Receive and load containers.
• Clean - prep containers for delivery.
• Add Signs and Stencil New Containers
• Load and unload foundation materials and entry systems.
• Load and unload Furniture and Value-added Products per work orders.
• Assist with VAPS warehouse stocking and cleaning.
• Manage yard organization and cleanliness and keep storage yard clean and orderly.
• Clean and organize shop area as needed.
• Empty trash hoppers throughout the day.
• Distribute materials to all production areas.
• Basic maintenance and repair tasks.
• Ability to use basic power and carpentry tools.
• Ability to be certified on forklifts and scissor lift.
• Provide off-site assistance with delivery and setup of furniture.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Experience working in construction industry 
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills 
• Provide an acceptable driver’s abstract and maintain a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record per company standards 
• Forklift experience a must

Physical Requirements:

• Climbing up and down on ladders and equipment 
• Ability to work on concrete floors and uneven surfaces for up to 8 hours 
• Ability to lift 50 pounds 
• Ability to pick up a minimum of 25 pounds consistently and carry up to 250 feet unassisted 
• Work outside in all weather conditions 
• Ability to work more than 40 hours per work week and up to 12 hours per day
