Part-time employee · $18–22/hour + commission · Up to 15 hours per week · Field-based
ROLE SUMMARY
We're looking for a people person. Someone who can walk into a room, strike up a conversation with anyone, and walk out with a new relationship. You'll be the face of our client's brand in your metro's real estate community — the one store owners know by name, the friendly face at the booth, the person who makes things happen in person.
Here's what your weeks look like:
• Building relationships with local trade businesses — the building supply shops, tool rentals, paint stores and plumbing counters where investors, contractors and wholesalers show up every day
• Getting signage placed in those stores — and here's the fun part: nobody pays anybody. The store gets a free listing in our client's vendor directory, so you're walking in with a genuine win-win to offer
• Working real estate conferences, investor meetups and trade shows across Texas — setting up the booth, handing out flyers, chatting with attendees, answering questions and collecting leads
• Scouting spots for yard and road signs along busy streets and commercial corridors — always with the property owner's written okay
• Capturing photos of placements, booths and events for the marketing team
• Sharing what you're hearing on the ground — the tracker, a weekly check-in, and your read on what's working
If you love being out and about, get energy from talking to people, and can turn a cold walk-in into a warm relationship, this is your kind of job. You own your metro — your routes, your relationships, your wins.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
FIELD PLACEMENT
• Build and maintain a target list of independent trade supply businesses across your assigned metro
• Visit businesses in person, ask for the owner or manager, and present the placement offer
• Negotiate placement position, prioritizing counter and pro-desk locations
• Install signage and photograph it in place for verification
• Return monthly to confirm signage is still displayed and the relationship is healthy
• Identify and secure locations for yard signs and roadside signage — high-traffic streets, freeway exits and commercial corridors — • with written property owner permission on file before any sign is placed
TRADE SHOWS AND EVENTS
• Attend real estate conferences, investor meetups and trade shows across Texas as scheduled
• Set up, staff and tear down the booth, keeping it presentable through the day
• Distribute flyers and marketing materials to attendees
• Start conversations with attendees, give a short walkthrough of the platform, and answer basic questions
• Collect contact information from interested attendees and pass it to marketing the same day
• Photograph the booth, the crowd and key moments for our marketing team
• Send a short recap after each event — attendance, leads collected, questions you couldn't answer, and what other vendors were doing
REPORTING AND TRACKING
• Log every visit, outcome and placement in a shared tracker the same day
• Report weekly on visits made, placements landed and objections heard
• Flag any question you can't answer rather than improvising
SCHEDULE
• You set your own days and route within your metro. Hours are capped at 15 per week and must be logged accurately. Most reps will work three days a week, roughly five hours each, timed to when supply counters are busy — early mornings and mid-week tend to work best.
• Event weeks run longer. Conferences can run two to three consecutive days and are scheduled and approved in advance.
COMPENSATION
• $18–22 per hour, depending on experience, paid biweekly
• $50 per completed placement, paid on install
• +$25 when the placement is at the counter or pro desk
• +$25 per store still displayed at day 60
• Mileage reimbursed at the current IRS standard rate
• Travel time and mileage to events outside your metro are paid
Commission is paid on top of hourly, not against it.
REQUIREMENTS
• Based in the metro you're applying for and familiar with its commercial areas
• Reliable vehicle and current auto insurance
• Smartphone capable of taking and sending photos
• Comfortable walking into a business unannounced and asking for the manager
• Comfortable approaching strangers at events and starting a conversation
• Willing to travel occasionally within Texas for multi-day events
• Able to work independently without daily supervision
• Accurate and honest time reporting
PREFERRED
Background in trades, wholesaling, building supply sales, title services or property management — anything that already puts you inside these businesses and gives you relationships to start from. Booth or event experience is a plus.
What this role is not
• Not remote. Every hour is spent in the field.
• Not phone or call-center work.
• Not commission-only — you're paid hourly for your time regardless of outcome.
• Not full-time, and not a path to full-time in the pilot period.
REPORTING
You'll report to our marketing lead with a weekly check-in call and a shared tracker for daily logging.
About Branding Texas

This role supports one of our client accounts, a Texas real estate platform expanding into in-person marketing across the state's major metros. You'd be employed by Branding Texas and working that account in your local market.
How to apply
Send a short note telling us how you'd get a supply house manager to say yes to signage on their counter. Two or three sentences is plenty — we want to see how you'd open the conversation, not how polished it sounds. Tell us which metro you're in.
