Looking for the best midsize Bus for your school bus dreams? Congrats you just found it.
This bus is an absolute beast, it will take you anywhere you want at the perfect speed to enjoy the scenery (slow). I have taken this thing over the Sierra Nevadas, over Mt Hood, on forest roads, to the coast, and everywhere in between. Very reliable and easy to drive. Inside is set up for roadtrip adventures and everything is built for easy removal for a full revamp/permanent build. Includes Dinette, fold-down couch bed, single bed in rear, storage (bins included), kitchen/sink area. I used it as an adventure vehicle for a couple of years and am looking for something a little smaller. Snugly seats about 10 including driver.
I am the 3rd owner, after school district, (2nd owner had it for 10+ yrs), mostly highway driving and never left the PNW. Liquids and filters changed annually at a minimum regardless of mileage, always stored with a full tank of gas, ZERO RUST and started and driven a couple times a month. I have title, registration and insurance is current.
2001 Bluebird TC2000
Front Engine
162k Miles (hub odometer only)
26ft long and 30k GVWR
The Good:

- Does not require DEQ in Oregon
- Brand new 2024 tires (Traction tires on rear)
- 5.9 Cummins Diesel Engine (45 Gal Tank)
- Pre-Emissions requirements (another if you know you know)
- Allison Transmission (Automatic)
- Automatic Chains (functional)
- Sand tanks for ice
- Air Brakes + Air compressor plug-in
- Riccardo Air suspension seat
- All doors and roof hatches work
- LED headlights + exterior lights
- Backup camera
- Brakes are good and have been checked recently
- After market computer display
- New fuel filter
- New OEM Alternator
- Battery bank is only 4 years old
- Aftermarket bluetooth radio with upgraded speaker
- Hitch on both ends (Only used for bike racks)
- Incredible turning radius (132" Wheelbase)
- very low/no blowby
- Handicap lift removed
- Original rear heater
- Cruise control
- Tire covers included and used whenever not being driven
- Air Horn
- No CDL required
The Bad:
- Check engine light on intermittently due to accelerator computer chip being faulty. I have a new accelerator, just haven't installed it yet. Been like this the entire time I have had it, current accelerator works fine. Happy to verify to serious buyers at a mechanic.
- Gets between 7-11 MPG (it is a school bus...)
- Pretty sure there is a speed limiter at about 65-70MPH but honestly you probably don't want to go faster than that.
- Hub odometer only
Don't need to sell and waiting for the right offer since I have put a decent chunk of money into this, but willing to negotiate in-person only. You can only test drive if you bring money + proof of insurance.
