The Les Paul Junior has always been about doing more with less — original stripped-down design philosophy from the past, built around a single humbucker pickup in the bridge position with simple volume/tone controls. The idea was that a great guitar does not need to be complicated and that idea still holds up. Classic single-cutaway body with a wraparound-style bridge/tailpiece. Features Mahogany body & neck, with a Rosewood fretboard. Bolt-on neck construction. 24.75” scale length
This guitar is in good shape for a 16 year old guitar but it does have some light scratches, scuffs and small dings. Neck is straight. Electronics work. Parts of some signatures have been partially rubbed off from use. See photos. Please view the pictures carefully and consider them part of the description.
Note: I bought the guitar from a reputable source (Nuci's Place) with a label stating signed by Blink 182, but from my research I believe the signatures belong to Tom DeLonge and band members of Angels & Airwaves. AVA was Tom DeLonge’s project that grew out of Blink-182’s 2005 breakup/hiatus.
Below the bridge there is a clear “AVA” with a line through it. AVA is the official abbreviation/stylization for Angels & Airwaves. To the left of the bridge there is a rocket ship with flames. Tom DeLonge has a well-known obsession with space, rockets, UFOs, and “To The Stars.” He frequently incorporates rockets or space imagery into his autographs and AVA artwork. The three tall peaked strokes with a horizontal slash through them is consistent with abstract marks used by David Kennedy or Atom Willard. The large crossing strokes that look like a stylized “TD” above AVA matches Tom’s looser script style from that period. Without an official COA I cannot guarantee the authenticity of the signatures.
My price is significantly less than what signed guitars go for online. Lowball offers will be ignored. Would make a unique gift for any Tom DeLonge/Angels & Airwaves fan or just a nice conversation piece hanging from a wall in a man cave.
