A Masterpiece of Decorative Elegance — Where Hollywood Regency Glamour Meets Timeless European Sophistication.
Some furnishings occupy a space. Others transform it.
This extraordinary VERY RARE AND UNIQUE five-tier étagère belongs decidedly to the latter.
Attributed to the prestigious luxury furniture house Theodore Alexander, this magnificent vintage étagère is a celebration of architectural artistry, exquisite ornamentation, and sophisticated design.
Standing an impressive 84 inches tall, its commanding yet remarkably graceful silhouette features an intricate faux-bamboo metal framework, beautifully aged bronze and antique-gold tones, elegant decorative finials, and delicately curved supports. Its slender, sculptural construction creates an almost ethereal appearance, while its substantial weight and solid craftsmanship speak to the quality behind its beauty.
But the true enchantment lies in its extraordinary shelves.
Five generously proportioned, beautifully contoured display tiers feature richly decorated surfaces with intricate floral medallions, classical scrolling borders, and an exquisite aged finish. Their graceful serpentine-inspired outlines introduce movement and refinement, transforming each shelf into a decorative work of art in its own right.
The marriage of ornamental Reeded metalwork and richly embellished shelving creates an irresistible interplay of texture, form, and Old World romance.
Hollywood Regency. Chinoiserie Influence. European Grandeur.
This remarkable piece effortlessly bridges several of the most celebrated traditions in luxury interior design.
Imagine it gracing the sunlit salon of a grand Palm Beach estate, surrounded by towering windows, lush tropical gardens, and beautiful architectural details.
Or picture it in an elegant European drawing room, displaying treasured porcelain, antique bronze sculptures, fine art glass, and a carefully curated collection of beautiful objects.
Whether showcasing exquisite collectibles, serving as an architectural focal point in a sophisticated living room, or introducing dramatic vertical interest into a grand foyer, this étagère offers endless possibilities for inspired interiors.
Its open framework allows light and surrounding architecture to remain visible, creating an extraordinary sense of visual elegance without overwhelming the space.
A statement piece that commands attention without ever demanding excess.
