I am requesting consideration a donated vehicle for myself, a 76-year-old woman who is currently unemployed and relies solely on Social Security as my source of income.
Because of my limited fixed income, purchasing a dependable vehicle, making monthly car payments, maintaining insurance, and covering unexpected repairs would place a significant financial burden on me. I do not have the financial resources necessary to purchase or replace a reliable vehicle on my own.
Having dependable transportation would make a meaningful difference in my daily life. A vehicle would allow me to attend medical and other important appointments, obtain groceries and household necessities, pick up prescriptions, handle essential errands, and remain as independent as possible. It would also reduce my reliance on family members, who live out of town and Uber transportation uses to much of my income.
At my age and with my limited income, reliable transportation is not a luxury; it is an important part of maintaining my independence, safety, and quality of life. Receiving a donated vehicle would provide much-needed stability and would allow me to use my limited Social Security income for essential living expenses rather than transportation costs.
I would be extremely grateful for any assistance provided. A dependable donated vehicle would have a lasting and positive impact on my ability to meet my everyday needs and remain safely and independently in my community.
I worked for 18 1/2 years up to last June 2025 for a company that laid me off the minute I pull a muscle on my leg and needed a few weeks to recuperate. My SUV broke and had to get rid of it immediately after my lay-off last year, too. It’s been difficult meeting my doctor appointments and due to not able to afford my Uber rides, I just don’t go. I have my drivers license and still able to drive.
Thank you for considering my request and for the generosity your organization provides to individuals and families in need.
