We are a retreat center in the beautiful redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains, looking for someone to join our wedding/event team as part of the set-up crew. You will find a rewarding job with friendly staff in a tranquil setting!
This is a Saturday seasonal position from now until November (resuming in February if desired). Perfect for students, travelers and those who want to spend time with family over the winter holidays.
This is a highly physical job; we set up inside and outside for events.
Pema Osel Ling is run by the Vajrayana Foundation, whose mission is to share the Buddhist ideals of peace and compassion and to preserve Tibetan art and culture. Your work will be supporting positive activity and connecting people to our sacred land.
Set Up Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working with and taking direction from the Set-up Lead to ensure weddings are set up with care and professionalism
- Comprehending & completing tasks on set up documents
-Transporting equipment (tables, chairs, outdoor heaters, umbrellas, etc.) Heavy lifting is involved.
- Helping to assemble a dance floor & set up lighting
- Setting up tables to client's specifications
- Other facility tasks as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for an 8 hour shift
- Good communication skills
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation a must as we are in the mountains

- Ability to work with a sense of urgency, precision and efficiency
- Flexible attitude to tackle last minute changes
- Ability to take direction well
- Must be able to work as part of a team and have a positive attitude
