Central States Casters is a distributor of casters, wheels and all other components related to casters. We have a position available, in our warehouse, for a very motivated individual as an assembler of casters. This position requires heavy lifting as our product is made of steel. Employee will be building orders, unique to each customer. Learning the inventory numbers is an integral part of succeeding. On truck days, this will be a very fast paced environment as orders will need to be picked, assembled and shipped as quickly as possible.
Responsibilities
Assembly of all orders - this involves learning the inventory numbers.
Operate various warehouse equipment including forklifts to load, unload, move, and organize inventory.
Perform manual handling tasks such as stocking shelves, packing orders, and preparing shipments with precision and care.
Conduct inventory control activities helping to track stock levels accurately.
Assist with order picking and order fulfillment processes to ensure timely delivery of products.
Maintain safety protocols by using personal protective equipment (PPE), adhering to OSHA standards, and following established safety regulations during all operations.
Support shipping & receiving functions by loading/unloading trucks, verifying shipment contents, and documenting transactions thoroughly.
Collaborate with warehouse supervisors on inventory management tasks, including stock replenishment and cycle counts to optimize warehouse distribution efficiency.
Qualifications
Proven experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers with familiarity in inventory management.
Mechanical knowledge or construction experience is a plus .
Basic math skills for inventory counting, measurements, and order processing accuracy.
Experience with order picking & packing, shipping & receiving processes within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks consistently while maintaining attention to detail.
