From the early 50s. Auto-lowers and raises the bread in the toasting cycle. Chrome and bakelite. Needs to be cleaned up and repaired, or use for parts. We bought it used in Canada and used it for 50 years--then it stopped lowering the bread. I tried the recommended adjustments to no avail. There may be a burned out, not visible, part.
