Don’t scrap it—let my students learn from it!
I am a local High School Metals Teacher looking for donations of usable metal for my students to practice welding, cutting, and fabrication. Rather than seeing old iron and steel go to a scrapyard for pennies, I’m looking for "raw materials" that my students can use to master their craft. Your "junk" becomes their classroom project.
🛠 What We Are Looking For:
We can repurpose almost anything made of steel or iron, including:
Old Hand Tools: Wrenches, hammers, pliers (great for "found object" art).
Hardware: Large bolts, nuts, chains, and brackets.
Raw Stock: Angle iron, pipe, square tubing, or flat plate.
Barn/Garage Finds: Old horseshoeing gear, implement parts, or heavy-duty scrap.
🚫 What This Is NOT:
This is NOT a scrap-for-profit operation. I am not looking to make a buck at the recycling center.
Everything collected goes directly into the hands of students for educational use.
🚛 My Offer to You:
If you have a garage, barn, or shed that needs clearing out, I will do the heavy lifting. I am happy to come by, sort through what you have, and haul away anything usable for our shop class.
