I've had this preamp for a while now... I have to say it's very impressive! The level of detail you get is quite amazing. This is about the purest way of getting the signal to your speakers. There's no power chord, everything operates passively. Basically, nothing but a high quality volume control.
I had a chance to compare it to a few different quality "traditional" powered preamps and the Adcom definitely sounded more high end. Symbols in particular sounded real with this controller. Vocals sounded real. Almost spooky sometimes.
If you're looking for a quality preamp to bring the best out of your source equipment and amplifier... put this Straight line controller on the top of your list. It has enough inputs to cover just about any set up other than a turntable. Theres' no phono input.
Front Panel Controls: The front features push-button input selectors for sources such as CD, tuner, aux, DAT, tape, VCR 1, and VCR 2. It also includes a video monitor switch, recording selector, balance control, and a large rotary level/volume knob.
Rear Connections: The rear panel provides gold-plated RCA inputs and outputs for all sources, tape loops, VCR monitoring, TV monitor outputs, main line outputs, and a chassis ground terminal. It also features a level/balance configuration switch (bypass/on) on the back panel.
