This was my issue the Fox 36 steerer was about 10mm too short to get a safe purchase with the stems and head set I had. After finding a nice low stack head set, this was the finishinhg touch, got me 2mm of steerer above the top of the stem so I could drop a short spacer and a cap and it was rock solid.
This stem was $125 w/shipping from UK back when ChainReaction cycles was alive
(I was always stunned how they could only charge like $11-15 for Intl shipping...? Now we know one reason why they went out of business..)
Available now has not been used in 2y FINALLY clearing out all the collected gear.
