We are looking for a reliable, hardworking individual to join our team as a Kennel Assistant.
This is a hands-on, active position working directly with dogs and cats.
Hours will range between 24 to 40 hours per week, depending on need.
WHAT THE JOB INVOLVES:
• Assisting with the daily care of all animals, including feeding, watering and administering medications
• Cleaning kennels and crates, outdoor areas, and common spaces.
• Washing dog bowls and maintaining kennel cleanliness.
• Monitor dog behavior and health and report concerns to management
• Assist/perform basic light grooming (baths, nail trims, brushing)
• Moving dogs around safely between areas.
• Assisting with daily operations
• Supporting a clean, safe and organized environment.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for all animals
• Interact with pet owners in a professional and friendly manner
• Take pictures with a reliable smartphone
PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING:
This position is focused on care, structure and responsibility, not just interacting with the animals for fun. Cleaning, lots of it, handling waste and messes, physical work, being on your feet for long periods, working in heat, cold, and all weather conditions.
You will be expected to stay focused, and off your phone during work time.
This role is best suited for individuals comfortable in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.

Experience with dogs is a plus, but WORK ETHIC is more important than experience.
We are happy to teach you if you are humble enough to learn.
Ability to make minor repairs to fencing, plumbing, electrical, etc. is a HUGE plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to handle dogs of various sizes, and temperaments including very large dogs
• Standing and moving for extended periods
• Ability to lift (Up to 50lbs), bend and stay active throughout the shift
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
Some holiday and weekend work is required
Flexible availability to cover co-workers, extra shifts, projects and emergencies required.
Ability to pass a monitored drug test may be required before and after hire.
