NOW HIRING: Independent Living Skills (ILS) Instructors
Community Resource Services (CRS) is seeking compassionate, reliable, and motivated Independent Living Skills (ILS) Instructors to support adults with developmental disabilities in building independence and life skills.
Position Overview
ILS Instructors work one-on-one and, at times, in small group settings to support clients with daily living skills, including but not limited to:
• Cooking and meal preparation
• Cleaning and household organization
• Money management and budgeting
• Community navigation and, at times, transportation
• Medical and appointment coordination
• Self-advocacy and communication skills
• Independent recreation and social participation
This position requires more than simply spending time with clients. ILS Instructors are expected to teach, guide, problem-solve, follow through, and help clients become as independent as possible while working toward their ISP goals.
Requirements
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid California driver’s license.
• Reliable, insured vehicle meeting minimum coverage requirements.
• Ability to pass background check and fingerprint clearance.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use email, online systems, and electronic documentation.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients at all times.
• Ability to follow directions, program policies, and established procedures.
• Must be a team player and communicate appropriately with supervisors and coworkers.
• Ability to accept feedback, redirection, and supervision professionally.
• Must demonstrate initiative, problem-solving skills, and follow-through when assisting clients.
• Dependable, punctual, organized, and client-focused.
Schedule & Pay
• $18.50 per hour, with opportunities for increases based on performance, reliability, and demonstrated work ethic.
• Starting at up to 29 hours per week.
• Availability needed between 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
