Real Estate Transaction Legal Assistant
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated Real Estate Transaction Legal Assistant to support attorneys in a wide range of residential and commercial real estate transactions. The successful candidate will play an integral role in coordinating transactions from initial intake through closing while providing exceptional support to attorneys and clients.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will assist attorneys with a wide range of real estate transaction matters, including:
Assisting with residential and commercial real estate transactions from contract preparation through closing.
Preparing, reviewing, and organizing purchase and sale agreements, leases, amendments, closing documents, and related correspondence.
Coordinating with clients, attorneys, brokers, lenders, title companies, managing agents, opposing counsel, and other transaction professionals.
Assisting with due diligence, including reviewing and organizing title reports, surveys, corporate documents, financial documents, and other transaction-related materials.
Preparing closing checklists, transaction summaries, closing statements, and other necessary documentation.
Coordinating and scheduling closings, conference calls, client meetings, inspections, and other transaction-related appointments.
Monitoring transaction deadlines and ensuring that required documents and deliverables are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
Maintaining accurate and organized electronic and physical transaction files.
Assisting attorneys with document preparation, correspondence, research, and other transactional and administrative tasks.
Communicating professionally and effectively with clients and other parties throughout the transaction process.
Providing exceptional client service while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
Prior experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or similar role in a real estate law practice.
Experience handling residential and/or commercial real estate transactions from contract through closing.
Familiarity with New York real estate transactions, contracts, title, and closing procedures.
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic document management systems.
Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a legal team.
Professional demeanor and a strong commitment to client service and confidentiality.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Spanish language proficiency is a plus, but not required.
