Farm built hydraulic splitter with a 8HP Honda engine and road tires. It has proven to be a dependable starter and has plenty of splitting power, as I used it for large spruce rounds. It will split 24" rounds or up to 19" rounds with the ram boot.
It was originally purchased on CL for $500 and needed work. I had an established shop install a new hydraulic fluid tank and hoses at a cost of $400. I build a steel boot for the ram that doubled its height to better equal the splitting blade at a cost of $40 and labor. The engine has good working compression and leaks a little oil that requires occasional checking.
At this point it is too big a unit for my use and storage.
