High-quality wood chess set in very good condition. I recall this being a Brookstone set, though there are no brand markings on the wood.
Unique "Lift-Off" Design:
The chess board itself (15 5/16" square) is the lid. It lifts straight off the base - no hinges or drawers to break or jam.
Storage:
The base contains 32 individual felt-lined compartments. Every piece has its own dedicated slot to prevent scratching or rattling during storage.
