This beautifully framed etching or print is by renowned French artist Leon Danchin. It is very large and features two highly detailed hunting dogs. It's a very large, framed heavy piece measuring 34" side to side by 27-1/2" top to bottom. As do all of Danchin's pieces, it shows the highest of details and is signed Leon Danchin (1887-1938). This is not a painting although it has the appearance of one, but is an early etching/print. It is very nicely matted and the frame shows a few age related nicks and scratches which could be easily touched up. The framing alone in 1975 cost $90. Danchin was famous for his life-like depictions of hunting/sporting dogs. See last two pictures for another very large, beautifully framed Danchin print available from a local estate.
