Position Title: Commercial Roofing Service Foreman
Reports To: Service Manager
Position Summary
The Commercial Roofing Service Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising their helper performing commercial roof inspections, maintenance, repairs, leak investigations, and small reroofing projects. This position serves as the primary field representative for the company, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead, supervise, and train commercial roofing service helper.
Coordinate daily service schedules and assign tasks to crew member.
Perform roof inspections, leak investigations, preventative maintenance, and repair work on a variety of commercial roofing systems.
Identify roofing deficiencies and recommend repair solutions.
Ensure all work is completed according to manufacturer specifications, company standards, and customer expectations.
Maintain a strong focus on jobsite safety and OSHA compliance.
Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce company safety policies.
Complete service reports, inspection reports, photographs, and documentation accurately and promptly.
Communicate directly with customers, property managers, general contractors, and facility personnel regarding project status and repair recommendations.
Order and manage materials, tools, and equipment needed for service work.
Monitor labor productivity and job costs to ensure profitability.
Train and mentor service personnel in proper roofing techniques and safety procedures.
Perform quality control inspections on completed work.
Respond to emergency leak calls and after-hours service requests as needed.
Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
Assist with estimating repair work when requested.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of commercial roofing experience.
Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Extensive knowledge of commercial roofing systems including:
TPO
PVC
EPDM
Metal Roofing Systems
Ability to diagnose roof leaks and develop repair solutions.
Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and fall protection requirements.
Ability to read plans, specifications, and roof drawings.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights for extended periods.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Certifications
OSHA 30 Certification
First Aid/CPR Certification
Forklift and Aerial Lift Certifications
