"Mittens" was born on our farm after someone dumped his pregnant mother. She "hatched" the kittens in one of our hen nest boxes. He's probably about 5 months old now. Mittens has been rather shy but has finally become friendly enough we can pet and scratch him. He's currently less shy with women than men but will likely come around to both once he continues to gain more confidence. Gets along with other cats and kittens quite well. We have found homes for his littermates but because Mittens was more shy, we needed to wait until he warmed up to people a bit better so he is more approachable.
However, because of our own dogs and the dogs we foster for rescues, it would not be safe to bring him into the house. He stays close to the front porch, where we are currently feeding him. He would love to come into the house so he probably would make a good indoor/outdoor cat, or might adjust quite well to strictly being indoors.
If someone could give him a great home, we would happily re-home him for $1.
