We're seeking an empathic, highly organized, and dependable Administrative Assistant to join our fast-paced office. This is an on-site, long-term opportunity supporting the Director of an established household staffing agency. You will also be working with an exciting, proprietary start-up.
This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, thrives in a small office environment, and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly. Every day brings a new surprise. There is never a dull moment. You'll play an important role in supporting meaningful work that connects exceptional caregivers with families.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Provide administrative support to the Director
• Meet and screen candidates
• Check references
• Schedule appointments and interviews
• Compile candidate and client files
• Request background checks and more
• Coordinate communication with interns, consultants, and other support personnel
• Answer phones and emails professionally and warmly
• Assist with subscriptions, online bill payments, and general office management
• Conduct light online research
• Help keep projects organized across two companies
• Buy and keep track of office supplies
• Work extensively with Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Spreadsheets, Adobe Acrobat, and other common business applications
REQUIREMENTS
• A college degree
• Recent administrative experience, preferably with a small business
• Punctuality and reliability
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Extensive experience using Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, scanners, calendars, and common office software
• Sound judgment and the ability to work independently
• Honesty, maturity, reliability, and discretion
• A positive attitude and genuine kindness
• Good intuition and excellent people skills
• A sense of humor and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• A desire to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibility over time

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION
• Monday through Friday
• Approximately 9:00 AM–2:00 PM, with flexibility to stay until 2:30 PM when needed
• In-office position located in Westport, CT
• $35/hr, plus performance bonuses, and paid time off
