UltraLux infrared saunas, especially the portable/foldaway models, receive generally positive reviews for their ease of setup, storage, and affordability, offering benefits like relaxation, muscle soreness relief, and detoxification, though performance varies by model, with some highlighting features like low EMF, carbon heaters, and Bluetooth audio for a good value compared to pricier options. Users enjoy the convenience of home use and features like ionizers, while some mention the need to find the right protocol (e.g., niacin) to sweat effectively, and the design often allows heads to stay out for comfort.
Positive Aspects
Convenience & Portability: Easy to set up, fold, and store, making home sauna use accessible.
Health Benefits: Users report reduced aches, better relaxation, and feelings of detoxification, consistent with infrared sauna use for improved circulation and recovery.
Value: Often considered a more affordable alternative to high-end saunas, providing good features for the price.
Features: Many models include carbon fiber heaters, ionizers, chromotherapy lights, and Bluetooth, notes UltraLux Health, this YouTube video, and this comparison review.
Design: Head/hand-out design is popular for reading or listening to music during sessions, say UltraLux Health and this Amazon listing.
Considerations & Potential Downsides
Sweating Protocol: Some users need specific methods (like niacin or light movement) to break a sweat effectively in these lower-temperature saunas, according to UltraLux Health.
EMF Levels: While some models claim low EMF, it's always a consideration, notes this Amazon listing and this blog post.
Actual Heat vs. Air Temp: The panels heat the body directly, but the air temperature inside remains lower than traditional saunas, which is typical for infrared, notes this Amazon listing.
Overall
UltraLux saunas offer a convenient, budget-friendly entry into infrared therapy for home use, praised for their portability and features, making them a good choice for those prioritizing value and convenience over the intense heat of traditional saunas.

I am really enjoying this sauna. I am not a person who naturally sweats much. I find that following the protocol of taking 1/2 of a niacin tablet, followed by a few minutes of light movement exercise, followed by the sauna helps me break into a sweat. I feel that I’m getting the benefit of removing toxins when I sweat. I take the charcoal afterwards.
Lexi in Customer Support was very patient and helpful in answering several questions that I had about the features of the sauna.
