The imagery depicts and interpretation of a traditional English-fictional Chinese love story. It features all the required hallmark motifs of the Willow legend: the central pagoda, an arched bridge with figures crossing, a willow tree, a boat, a distinctive geometric foreground fence, and two doves flying in flight at the top.
The markings on the bottom are: Est. 1831Allertons England Willow Made in England. It is a genuine piece and in perfect condition with no chips or crazing.
